Gan Khim Xuan - Practical 5 – Social Media Analytics for my SMM Project

Since our group is managing Between SG Facebook Page, we've decided to use Facebook Insights to measure and analyse the social media data that had been posted on Between SG Facebook Page. Facebook Insights is a really convenient tool as it can helps us to analyses the amount of engagement such as Post Clicks, Likes,Comments,Shares, Reach(Organic/Paid). Even the type of post, target audience and date posted on the page. In addition, it also allow us to boost the post by paying some money.

I will start my first report by showing a post that is more than one month before we started our Facebook posting on Between SG Facebook.


This post was posted on December 22, 2014, 5:30pm. which is more than one month before our group execute our posting on Between SG Facebook. It has Organic Reach of 365 People, total of 16 Likes, Comments & Shares ( 10 Likes, 6 Shares ). This post also achieve 12 Post Clicks in total. 
This is actually a challenge organized by Between and Hailo called "Taxifie Challenge", participants can upload their selfie in a taxi, upload them on Instagram and tag them to win free taxi rides. This challenge is actually quite new and interesting as it allow couples to take selfie together in a taxi and allow them to stand a chance to win free taxi rides. However, this challenge is not that well responded as it did not reached out to many people as Between SG Facebook Page has less than 500 likes at the point of time. Because of this, it does not create a really good awareness to the followers of Between SG Facebook Page about this challenge. In addition, there is another reason why this challenge was not well responded. This challenge was posted on Between SG Facebook Page at 5:30 pm, during this point of time, many page admin or Facebook Users will start to update their status and start posting, after many accumulation of posts, this challenge may be covered up by them and unable to appear on the followers timeline. Thus, resulted in this result of this post.

Recommendations : If we want to improve this post engagement, we need to post this challenge in a more appropriate time to prevent accumulation of other posts to cover this challenge. In addition, the poster for this challenge can be improved as well. Instead of 1 selfie, maybe the editor of this poster can put a few more selfies to strongly emphasize the main purpose and ways to win the prize. Using Between's logo color as the header color to make the followers feel that this event is closely link to Between and thus help in creating more brand awareness.
  Now, i will start my second report by showing one of our post on Between SG Facebook Page.

This post was posted on February 2 at 12:30pm. This post is actually done by us and it is currently the post with the most engagement in Between SG Facebook Page this month. It has organic reached out of 456 people, 37 Likes,Comments & Shares ( 13 Likes, 7 Comments, 17 shares) and 37 Post Clicks. This post is actually telling our Between SG Facebook Page followers 12 most romantic places to bring their date in Singapore.I looked through the shares, it is about couple tagging their loved ones to show them that they can go to these 12 places to have a date. This post is quite different from the previous one. The content is very useful for couples as they can find more places to hang out together and strengthen their bonds and relationship. During that point of time, Between has more than 500 likes and this post got 17 shares and 37 Post Clicks. This shows that with more amount of likes and shares of the posts, more people can see the posting and enable us to reached out to even more people. Besides this, content is also very important. We need to find contents that Between SG Facebook Page followers are interested and attract their attention to click on the post to generate even more engagement. Followers will most likely comment, like and share our posting if the content is appealing to them.Last but not least, this post is posted at 12:30 pm, which is lunch time. Many people will take this period of time to scroll through their Facebook timeline to see the latest posts, this is a very good timing for our post to reach out to our followers. As a result, this post receive quite a good amount of engagement as it has been shared by 17 people and allowed this post to reached out to even more people.

Recommendations: Since this post is done by us and it received the most engagement currently, i believed that we still can improve the quality of this post. Since it has the most engagements, it means that it is appealing to Between SG Facebook followers. Maybe we can put picture and introduce the places to date instead of posting up a link. In this way, more followers will take a look of the pictures and find out more details about the 12 most romantic places to go in Singapore !
