DMB Video Draft CA3.

This is our final video draft for Between. We took a few hours to finish this video draft and I would like to thank Yak Siong for editing the video and Photoshop certain images in order to create this video draft. We are really impress by Yak Siong Photoshop and video editing skills, this draft is really different from our first video draft. This time, this video draft is somehow looked even better in content and the smoothness of the video. Everything moves accordingly very well and everything looked good in place. The music that used in the video is well suited to the scene as well, giving a good feeling to the video viewers. 

After Yak Siong finished editing the video, he asked me to upload it on Youtube and our DMB 1A-21 Facebook Group to let our lecturer, Ms Jenni to view it and give us possible feedback as well.

Cover Photo for Between Facebook Page !

For our DMB CA2, we are allow to do more posters, cover photos and banners. However, Since Joash like cover photo the most, all of us decided to do Cover Photo for him. All of us did different theme of Cover Photo, I personally working on Chinese New Year Cover Photo while the rest are working on Valentine's Day, SG 50 or Chinese New Year as well. 

It took me quite a long time for me to do the Cover Photo, all the images used are all the images taken by myself . I created 3 cover photos for this DMB CA2.

First Cover Photo Description

Since we need to design new cover photo for our client for the upcoming festival which is the Chinese New Year. Our client want a long lasting cover photo which suit the festival, so we all agree on Chinese New Year theme Cover Photo.

I decided to use different layer of red and orange as background, to represent the color of the Chinese New Year and one little boy and girl, each holding a Chinese Banner which stated

“恭喜发财” and “万事如意”, these Chinese banner means that we wish you to be prosperous and all of your dreams may come true. Then in the center of the cover photo, it is a “福”

word, but up-side down. This syndicates “福倒”, which means the fortune will arrive to you and you will receive good luck and good fortune. 

Second Cover Photo Description

For my Second cover photo, I decided to used the Between App logo to put on the Cover Photo and parcel color that is quite close to Facebook layout color as the background color. This poster is kinda simple, but it can deliver the Chinese new year wishes to everyone. I put a fortune god in the center and a girl and a boy beside him, saying quotes related to 羊年(Year of Sheep) - 羊年吉祥,喜气洋洋, which means Bringing Blessing and Happiness in the Year of Sheep.

Third Cover Photo Description

For my Third Cover Photo, I take the same concept as the first Cover Photo by using the same characters and “福倒”, but I add in some petals and plants at the side of the girl and the boy. The background color is a gradient from red to white color. I want to thank our classmate, Junsheng for helping me in this Cover Photo for changing the background the color for me, really appreciate him for helping me.

We havent send Joash our Cover Photo yet, but we will do it as soon as possible for him to see our design. I hope that Joash will like our Cover Photo and give us more feedback for us to improve them.

Submission of Edited Poster

Joash gave many feedback for our posters and encouraged us to edit again and send it to him. Amanda is the first one who submit her edited poster to Joash and he is asking whether the rest of us are sending our edited poster to him.

 

I did edit my posters again but it is still not good enough, but since Amanda has already submitted her poster to Joash, i think i will just do another final editing and send it to him. However due to time constraint, I only can edit one of my posters as i still need to further edit my DMB CA2 which is the Cover Photos.

I am glad that Joash is still remember to ask for our edited poster again, I hope our edited poster will put a great help in promoting Between for him.

Asking permission from Joash for Facebook Posting

In order for us to post some interesting content on Between Facebook Page, we must look for some interesting content and show them to Joash to see whether he likes it or not. Personally i found some interesting contents that will bring more engagement in Between Facebook Page, which is posting love quotes and some simple steps to plan a date with your love ones.

Luckily, Joash like my ideas and he think that will work in Between Facebook Page in order to gain more engagement within the page itself and he will definitely look into my ideas for sure. Currently, our group is still waiting for his reply on content to be posted on Between Facebook Page...

DMB CA3 Video – thanks to YakSiong

This is the final draft video before we are settling with the final. It was a pretty complete video to me, though I think it can be improved in many ways. But overall, I felt happy to have such product out as we really spent lots of time on making the props, drawing on the whiteboard and etc.

Other than that, I am really thankful to YakSiong, as I think he did a very good job in editing all the images together for our video. Though definitely I believe he can do better than this but when I viewed this video after his editing, it gave me a different feel from the previous one and also I feel that his editing skills on premiere was good. As I was in charge of the music and sounds, I really liked how he cut and edited the music for the video, it gave me a total different feel from the original clips of music I sent him and I also realized he did find some audios on his own to match some scene as he edited at home so I won’t be able to get the right audios without viewing the video. Really thankful to YakSiong in doing the editing job and he did a pretty good job which I believe he can do better for our final video. 

FEEDBACK from SAMANTHA, DBIT1A21 which i got was that she feels that our video is very nice.

Waiting for replies and approval from all

After my own posters approval, Joash, our client replied me (shown below) and also let me know about his opinion on how he wants to post it which is another way of marking through social media and also at the same time mentions us but requires all of our group’s work.

Thus, I went on to inform my group members and also ask Ms Dora about it. My group members let me know about their opinions and also sent me their CA1 posters. I collated them and emailed Ms Dora for her to look through. Currently, am waiting for Ms Dora to view it so that I can reply to Joash. It’s understandable to me that Ms Dora has many work to do so I asked her if she had viewed my email so that I can sort of remind her and also hope to get a reply soon to get back to Joash. I also re-sent the email to her as she wasn’t able to open the original email. Really thankful to Ms Dora as she is very understanding about my situation and she says she will be giving me a reply by tonight. :) Below are all the screenshots on what I sent to Joash and Ms Dora.

CA1 Posters for Between (Replies)

As stated in one of my previous post, after submitting my posters which I had edited accordingly to client’s preference, I was waiting for his reply and he replied on 20 Jan. He said he liked the designs but I have to take note on the function I used for the poster as I carelessly took the screenshots from them without realizing its 2013’s thus I edited in the right calendar of 2015 and have emailed him the final posters.

I hope they will be using it, since I did it for them to promote their application and at the same time for my project thus it benefits both parties I guess? But I’m not sure if they will really use my posters since I never had a definite answer that he is going to use my posters, and I don’t know if my design’s standard is up for posting it. If he does post it, I would be really happy as it will be kind of a confirmation to me since I edited my posters 3-4 times after getting feedback and suggestions from friends, lecturer and client. I guess for the time being, I can wait for their reply and monitor Between’s Facebook to see if they did use our posters or not.

NOTE: I don’t want to delay any progress so I emailed him asap since I won’t have time to email the next morning as I’ve got lessons. However feeling apologetic to disturb his night, I sent him an Facebook message informing him I’ve sent him and also at the same time say sorry to disturb him at midnight and he can just view it tomorrow when he’s free and he replied me very friendly saying it’s ok, he will view it tomorrow and get back to me again. Glad to have him as our client. :)
